New Antibiotic Discovered in Pandas

According to a Chinese study; antibiotic was discovered the genome of pandas and artificially propagated in the laboratory, it is, it seems, much more powerful than most of the antibiotics already available on the market and if this really is effective after therapeutic tests experimental pharmacologically guided it would be a major advance in therapy.

According to one researcher, Yan Xiuwen biologist at the Nanjing Agricultural University (China); in their study identified a gene that allows the immune system to effectively fight against panda different germs and bacteria with a protein called cathélicide-AM which is 6x more effective than standard antibiotics.

Thus cathelicidin-AM has been reproduced in the laboratory, which opens new perspectives in medical therapy.
